Lauren Alexander
Meet Lauren Alexander – one of the founders of LNA or otherwise known as the ultimate Californian brand. Renowned for making the coolest tees in the softest cottons, it is the go-to for their perfect relaxed styles. We caught up with Lauren and on a trip to New York and chat about their brand.

Can you tell us a bit about the story of LNA?
LNA started with the simple idea of creating a men’s inspired t-shirt for women. We were really just looking to add a new staple to our everyday wardrobe that we thought that was missing. I had the idea to create a perfectly slouchy and super soft tee that looked like it was stolen for a man’s closet. That was 10 years ago and since then, we’ve evolved into a full collection of essentials. We are a California inspired brand that always strives to embody the West Coast quintessential vibe.
What were you up to before LNA?
I didn’t go to school to become a clothing designer or business owner so it's been 10 years of trial and error for building LNA. I’m from California and it was my dream from a very young age to be designer and own my own brand.
Can you give any advice to others wanting to start a brand?
My best advice would to just go for it and give it everything you’ve got. Nothing comes easy and there will be bumps in the road like with anything else in life. Treat your failures as necessary lessons to get to the next step and never believe the word no. You’ve gotta believe in your vision without a doubt and strive to become the master of your craft.
Where is home?
Silver Lake in Los Angeles!
Best thing about LA?
The beach, the sun, the diversity of each neighbourhood, the health food, and it's proximity to my favourite getaway location – PALM SPRINGS!
Are you a workaholic?
I think any business owner is a workaholic because your company is on your mind 24 hours a day. But work to us at LNA is so fun and exciting that being immersed in it all the time doesn’t feel like conventional work.
What do you do to relax?
I cook, listen to music, and pour myself a glass of wine.
Favourite thing to do when you have down time?
Yoga and a swim in the ocean. Or what can possibly beat a home-cooked meal with close family, friends and good wine!
What do you sleep in?
I either sleep in nothing at all or silk.
Thank you, Lauren!
